Job Description

A position for a postdoctoral researcher is available in our research laboratory beginning as early as September 2019. The project is focussed on the regulation of autotrophic sulfur metabolism and on the characterization of bacterial isolates and of communities from mining environments. The research is being conducted in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Toronto (Lesley Warren) and UC Berkeley (Jill Banfield) in the context of a Genome Canada and Genome Québec-funded project (https://bit.ly/2SZKa9R). Interested candidates should have experience with, or be interested in working with environmental bacteria and should be well versed in bacteriology and molecular microbiology methods.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in microbiology or in molecular biology

Required skills: Experience in bacteriology and with general molecular biology techniques, experience with RNA-Seq analysis and microbiome analysis (16S rDNA and/or metagenome-metabolic pathway analysis) would be an asset.
