Nominations for American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Ambassador to Canada
ASM International Ambassadors are international members of ASM who act as intermediaries between the Society and the scientific community in their country of residence to promote the advancement of microbiology and related activities.
ASM is now seeking nominations from Canadian Microbiologists who are also ASM members to succeed Dr. Peter Krell, the inaugural ASM Ambassador to Canada. The ASM Ambassador to Canada Web site is at: http://www.asm.org/index.php/international/region-6-canada.html.
- Promote and explain the benefits of membership in ASM;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key institutions and organizations in the region;
- Identify and respond to the needs of the local microbiological community.
These are voluntary positions without remuneration, but do help to promote microbiology at an international level including enhanced assistance and training opportunities to microbiologists working in resource-limited countries.
