The membership year for the society runs from January 1st to December 31st. The benefits of membership include:

awards: the SCM/Roche Diagnostic Award in
recognition to an outstanding Canadian Microbiologist and his/her
achievements, the Fisher Scientific Award given to stimulate and
recognize a new researcher in the microbiological sciences, the
Canadian Graduate Student Microbiologist of the Year to acknowledge
excellence in graduate studies, the Cederlane Award for the Student
Poster Competition, and the Canadian college of Microbiologists
Award for the Student Oral Competition.

Purchase the mailing list of the society. A set of mailing labels is provided for a fee of $300.00.
Become a sponsor or exhibitor at the Annual General Meeting of the society.
The CSM currently accepts only "news items" to post
on the CSM web site. The format is:
(i) a photo or image; (ii) a headline; (iii) the text of the news item. Members may post news items to the web site free of charge. Items from non-members are accepted, although a fee may be charged for posting. Forward all materials to the
CSM Secretariat.
